Fountain of Restoration is looking to expand and diversify our volunteer committee! Join a dynamic team that guides the work and direction of this amazing organization. As a program volunteer, you will gain leadership experience, give back to the community and learn more about female issues.
We are always in need of excellent Volunteers for our all of our classes and sessions, including those at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center and the Ohio School for the Deaf. Time commitment: 5-20 hours per month.
Mission
Our mission is to provide relationship, resources, and re-direction for “at-promise” females ages 11-18 with our research based consulting and information services. We will uplift, encourage, restore and empower females to find their worth and greater good for themselves, their families, and the community as a whole.
Program
The Fountain of Restoration Life Skills program is a prevention and enrichment program that provides girls with a safe place to discuss the challenges of home, school, friends, etc. The intensive 6 months of training prepares them to be leaders and role models and entitles them to earn college credit. Through a group mentoring process, girls learn new skills rooted in the theory of social emotional intelligence. During each session, the mentors lead the girls through fun and engaging activities followed by a group discussion.
Fountain of Restoration gives girls the tools to develop:
⭐ Confidence and self-worth
⭐ Self-awareness and empathy
⭐ Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
⭐ Leadership ability and group / social skills
⭐ Attitudes and values that lead to resilience and success in life
A minimum of 10 core sessions in the Life Skills curriculum deal with relevant issues, including bullying, peer pressure, mood management, refusal skills, body image, leadership, popularity, respect and ethics.
We are looking for members for the Volunteer/Mentor committee and the following committees: Finance, Marketing/Development, Fundraising, Clinical Counseling, Resource Development, and Human Resources.
